THE PROGRAM

TWO QUALIFICATIONS.
ONE POWERFUL EXPERIENCE.

TALS combines sport, business and leadership in a practical dual diploma program built around the real world of professional sport. Students develop transferable skills, industry experience and professional connections that can lead to careers across sport, entertainment, business, events, tourism, hospitality and beyond.

Students explore administration, events, coaching, community programs and sport operations while building the confidence to work independently, collaborate with others and take responsibility in professional environments.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Face to
face

TALS is built around in-person learning. Students learn alongside their cohort, work directly with educators and industry guests, and develop the relationships and confidence that are difficult to replicate online.

Two days
each week

Classes are delivered face to face over two days each week, creating a consistent learning rhythm while leaving space for work, placement and other commitments.

Four
terms

The 12-month program follows four teaching terms aligned broadly with the Tasmanian school calendar.

Full-time
study

The dual diploma is treated as a full-time study load. Students may be eligible for government student payments, subject to individual circumstances and Services Australia assessment.

Industry
connected

Classroom learning is reinforced through guest speakers, masterclasses, partner experiences and work-integrated learning.

STUDY IN HOBART OR LAUNCESTON

TALS is delivered from industry-connected learning hubs in Hobart and Launceston, giving students access to professional sporting environments and university facilities.

EDUCATORS CONNECTED TO INDUSTRY.

TALS educators and program staff are employed by the Tasmania Football Club, bringing current industry experience, professional standards and real workplace context directly into the learning environment. Students also learn from guest speakers and specialists across the TALS partner network.

“What makes TALS different is that our students learn directly within industry, guided by experienced educators and leaders in the field. They gain practical exposure, build genuine connections and develop a real understanding of the opportunities available across our growing sports sector.”

Jesse O'Hara
Head of Education and Impact, Tasmania Football Club
